4-STEP DESKTOP CALIBRATION CHECKLIST
Before hitting print on any Cryptid Vault file, ensure your driver settings match these parameters to preserve crisp lines, original scale, and smooth roller intake.
ACTUAL SIZE / 100%
Never choose "Fit to Page" or "Shrink oversized pages". Our art is strictly built with integrated 0.5" bleed safe borders. "Fit to Page" scales line weights down, causing jagged halftones and uneven margin gaps.
FINE / BEST QUALITY
Bypass default "Standard" or "Draft" eco-modes. High or Fine setting fires slower micro-droplets on inkjets or increases toner density on laser printers, guaranteeing pitch-black solid linework with no gray banding.
MEDIA TYPE: CARDSTOCK
Set printer paper profile to "Matte Heavyweight" or "Cardstock". This physically widens the roller feed spacing, prevents roller skid marks across your art, and recalibrates ink absorption drying time.
SINGLE-SIDED OUTPUT
Always print single-sided. Each master PDF spread in the Cryptid Vault contains blank backing leaves specifically so you never compromise an illustration when pressing hard with alcohol markers or blending solvents.

This is caused by roller pinch friction when the paper profile is set to "Plain Paper". In your printer software dialog, switch the media setting to "Heavyweight Matte" or "Cardstock". If available, feed paper via the rear manual tray rather than the bottom sliding drawer to bypass 180° roller bends.

Alcohol solvents naturally penetrate pulp fibers. Even on 80lb stock, heavy saturation can transfer. Always place a scrap sheet of 20lb paper or a silicone coloring blotter shield beneath the page you are working on.
